a resilient spirit

our cousin connie nannied, loved and nurtured, and helped to raise two little kids, one a girl (now young woman) named mary zane. connie is now a mommy to her own 3 little boys. she is an amazing mom, both to the little boys who came from her body and to those little ones that God gave her by causing paths to cross, all in His plan. i'm posting part of a letter connie wrote for mary zane's sorority as part of her senior year. i love what she says about having a resilient spirit. i think resiliency is so very much a part of true faith in God. He is in control. so in faith, whether we understand what is happening or not, we must stand firm. never waver. trust Him. oh, how this applies to our lives every moment.

"My prayer for you as you graduate, is not that God would clear your path of all obstacles, for we know that they are a part of his sovereign plan. My prayer is not for wealth or even “success” as the world would render. My prayer instead, is that you keep seeking his heart. My prayer is that in God’s grace and mercy that he would continue to bestow upon you a resilient spirit that has so marked you to the core. Resiliency is not simply just “bouncing back”, resiliency is the ability to stand firm and be steadfast throughout the days God has carved out for you. My prayer is that you will keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of your faith. My prayer is that you will run with perseverance the race that our loving heavenly Father has marked out for you. My prayer is that you find true contentment in whatever circumstance God places you."

Connie is a cousin I met only once but you could tell she had a loving sprit bubbling inside. I lvoe the way you wraite about her and I love what she write to a special person in her life. You never really know aht kind of inpact you will have..what kind of legecy you will leave. Being a vessel for the Lord to work with is so important when nuturing and teaching those little people that cross our paths. We never really know why the paths cross but we do knew who drew the map to make it all happen. I love that!
