just a little update on sarah beth. it's early right now so i haven't talked with kathleen yet today but as of last night, things were going pretty well. she was still in ICU because a bed hadn't opened up yet in the neuro stepdown unit. she has been able to eat some things like jello and mac & cheese, she can move her arms and legs, she's talking, making people laugh, things like that. she hadn't opened her eyes yet, that seems to be a little hard for her at this point. our friend brent was trying to show her a picture of his granddaughter and he said the more she tried to open her eyes to see it, the more her mouth kept popping open. i think that's funny...when the pathology report comes back she will be hearing options for treatment. we aren't sure at this point what those will be because it depends on radiation necrosis vs. tumor and the staging of the tumor. radiation may or may not be an option. there are some chemos that could be used. it's wait and see at this point.
thank you thank you thank you....beyond any words that i have at my disposal....thank you for praying. my friend kathy said the other day - can you imagine how many times God has been hearing sarah beth's name in these days?? we decided that instead of saying "alright, alright, i hear you already!!", He is no doubt just reveling in it, maybe saying "aaahhhh....I LOVE it when they talk with me..." please keep talking with Him. He is our peace and our hope.
