last night was our Christmas program. i wondered who would come to see it because it seemed like most of the church people were actually IN it. it was called "the miracle of Christmas" and my very own husband put it together, along with his sister kate, our friend angie, and sarah beth. (with some begging from me to include chris tomlin's "glory in the highest"...it worked!) the choir and praise team and children's choir and youth choir and handbells and our martin family all took part. we sang carols together as a congregation which was GREAT. i think we sang every carol every written because that part seemed to go on forever. but that was good. it all ended with candlelight and singing silent night with just mark booth playing guitar and it was so beautiful. he stopped playing toward the end, so it was just voices and harmonies...i stopped singing so i could hear the beauty of it. all of those voices lifted up together. amazing. a wonderful night. here are some pictures from the evening.

carol and misty (in front of my deacon and sambobbobby and jim)...i wish i had a picture of carol staring at jim while they were singing their family song. that was the best look she kept giving him.

these are a few of the martins. seriously, if they all ever quit the choir, we'll only have about 6 people left. tops.

mark booth. i LOVE to hear him play. and carla, his wife - she did the narration and she does it with so much feeling, it makes it even more special.

i think paula is avoiding the camera. and donna is just ignoring me.

[your caption here] no, really. he was doing this because i asked him to.

misty, jim and dee. couldn't leave them out!

these guys rock. i don't know what they're doing in this picture though.

me and my diane. we love to sing together. she's amazing.
jake makes

sure people can hear us and we can hear each other. most of the time that's a good thing.

nathan makes sure we have words so we don't forget what to sing. and when nerves hit, this is very important...
no

idea.

yes it was a beautiful service. one of those "just gotta be theres". andrew loved the candlelighting part-the pyro that he is. and one notation--> there will always be some non-musically talented spectators there -you can count on the smiths.
