snow day

before we went to bed last night we knew those weather people were forecasting snow, so we knew we'd better check on the school closing status before we woke up the boys this morning. 5:15 a.m. there was barely a flake on the ground. when i checked the news while i was getting ready for work, school was open, not even a 2 hour delay. went to check my email at 6 and got one that said it was closed. too bad for blake, he was already out of bed and in the shower. but his brothers got to sleep in. apparently the roads were pretty slick and we did end up getting a decent amount of snow on top of it. fortunately, my job allows me to call at the last minute if i'm unable to come in - for a snowday, or if the boys are sick, whatever. greg went to work but the boys and i had a snowday! the did snowday-ish things- watched a movie, played with the wii, played the gamecube, wrestled, argued, that kind of stuff.

i love this picture. i was just standing looking at the snow and noticed a little narnia thing happening with a big stake outside and my lamp inside.

even though it was about 3 degrees with the wind chill factor, i heard "mom, can we play a snowy football game?", so i agreed. next was "can we play tackle", which i also agreed to because it would help them get out of the house quicker...;0)...
