cub scout stuff

max had his last cub scout meeting and it was a fun one. our friends randy and gloria own the local wildbirds unlimited - randy made a "guest appearance" at max's den meeting and talked to them about birds and birdhouses and feeding birds and all of the things he knows about birds...which is a lot! they also got to make birdhouses, which max thoroughly enjoyed. we think that maybe wrens will come live in it. once we get it out in the yard, that is.



the annual blue and gold ceremony was held recently. max earned his bear badge over the course of the past year and had a lot of fun doing it. he says his favorite thing thing they did was carving. great. he likes knives. this was his last meeting in the blue shirt. he's going to be a webelo now and so he'll be needing a tan scout shirt. only 2 more years in cubs! blake and luke were at the ceremony to welcome some new boys as they crossed over into their scout troop. of course they would've been there anyway for max, but they got to participate this time. when max crosses over in a couple years, they'll be there to welcome him. i anticipate being a little misty-eyed for that one.
