i've decided that i'm liking the weekly recap method of blogging. unless something major is going on (which, praise God, isn't the case right now) i can free myself of feeling compelled to make a daily blog entry that would probably only state something like "we all breathed today," or "i blinked 100,000 times." of course "major" doesn't always have to be life-changing or tragic or anything like that. and sometimes minor is major in the grand scheme of things. little things are important and unless i write them down, i WILL forget them.
and sorry, emmynonymous, there will be a flower or two in this entry. =)

one interesting thing that happened this week was when luke walked in the door after school one afternoon looking like this. seems there was a little mishap with the glasses during a "cleaning". but a couple quick phone calls to the eye doctor for rx faxing and off to the frame store he and greg went. they're having a 2 pair/$99 bargain that dave ramsey whole-heartedly approves so we couldn't pass that up. and they made it up there in time to just make the deadline for the glasses to be ready that evening.

which was important, seeing as how this is westest week at school and luke was refusing greg's offers to repair his frames with electrical tape. he got one pair of regular lenses and one pair of rx sunglasses, which he's been wanting for years.

cicadas have invaded and are perfectly disgusting, i don't care what the reason for their creation was or what spot they have in the circle of life. they are ugly, start to finish.

emmy this flower is for you. i saw it at max's bus stop this week. pretty huh?
this weekend has been a little quiet around our house. blake and luke are on a camping/fishing trip at beech fork with their scout troop. they've had a mixture of rain and thunderstorms and sunshine...the laundry should be lovely. max has had a tummy virus which is still hanging on but he's feeling a little better this morning after some extra rest. he was feeling better yesterday afternoon and wanted to play his soccer game (he'd missed the morning game) so we let him. probably wasn't the greatest idea - kind of set him back a little. but he enjoyed it for the most part. had to sit out for a bit. he had lots of fans there - sarah beth, jeremy, jason, aunt kate, poppaw and christina all came to cheer him on.

i did something unusual for me - breakfast with the girls! meeting for coffee is a regular event of course but this was new. and it was fun! kathy and nicki were there as well as kathy's friend lara and lara's sister jenny, who are new friends for me. lara and i have been myspace friends for awhile but this was our first in-person meeting. i really had a good time. kathy got our picture as we were leaving. for some reason we ended up in these wvu chairs. it only burned a little.

you did well I was a little worried when I read that shout out. And no I don't like to line dry! I know I know it is a waste of energy to use the dryer but I hate the feel of clothes that are line dried. They are so crusty!
emmynonymous...i think you are on to something here...looks like she is junebug no more. i have to say though i'm with her on the intervention, you seem safe now but the smallest bloom could set you off!
if you need any further advice on glasses repair talk to bryce he and jeremy really did a number on his a few times!
1. i miss your boys. yay luke on rx shades!
2. my dad says cicadas have zero purpose except the birds eat heartily every 17 years.
3. i agree on the rockers-Go Herd.
Looks like most of my children have voiced an opinion...I have to say that I have to admit that your clemetis is really pretty. Love the new specks...and you can keep your ugly bugs. I've seen little holes in the ground but no bugs yet. Haven't heard any either.
it's not even my clematis. it's kathy's neighbor katie's, we saw it at the bus stop one morning. i can't take credit!
sorry about those WVU rockers. when i was in tenn for training, i did everything i could to get marshall ones for our cb but to no avail. something about so many stores in a so many mile radius to sell them. they didn't even understand when i told them i knew we wouldn't be able to keep them in stock. nothing like marshall fans!! Debbie Clark p. s. really enjoy your blog!
WVu rockers-Boo, me in that pic-yuk, bkf with friends-priceless:)
glad you clarified the picture of the freaks of nature -- the bugs, not the people in the wvu chairs. did i get that right?
