this past week has been very relaxing. at the same time, it's been a flurry of activity and i'm tired! it has been a GREAT time with my family - my parents, my brothers and their families (including a nephew-in-law-to-be), my grandmother, my aunts and uncles, all my first cousins (but one) and their families. i'm going to list names here just for fun...mary, betty, max, max, scott, leigh ann, susan, megan, drew, jon, michele, rachel, stephen, ginny, hannah, max, ann, bo, bob, margie, elizabeth, lynn, david, heather, emily, caroline, linda, mike, katie, loren, brian, brittany, becky and julian. quite a bunch. not all in the same house, mind you. we're not totally nuts. but we were together a lot. and it was fun.
there was a LOT of time on the beach together. i'm pretty sure i won't have many shots of that on here, even though i have a ton. it seems my family is a little paranoid about this blog of mine. not sure how many times i heard "well, that'll be on the blog!"...or "this better not be on the blog!"...stuff like that. the kids did some fishing behind mom and dad's condo. we had an evening of putt putt golf. margie and michele organized and pulled off maybe the best bridal shower/ baby shower combo of all time. (my niece megan is getting married and my cousin katie is pregnant with baby #2!) my cousins bob and lynn honored their parents (my aunt ann and uncle bo) with a wonderful 50th wedding anniversary celebration. i have so many pictures that i can't possibly choose just a few for my blog. so i'm giving myself a break and settling for slide shows when necessary. i need to document the week. but i'm still on vacation and don't want to be blogging the whole time!
here's the first one. margie and michele gave a bridal/baby shower for megan and katie. it was a room packed full of flack women - my mamaw, her daughters, granddaughters (that includes the married-in ones) and great granddaughters. such a blessing to be together.

You guys are crazy...in the best of ways! The whole party thing was awesome. How wonderful to have almost everyone there to celebrate so many wonder things. Makes me sad we Ellis can't pull off something like that.
