home stuff

behind. as usual. and now i'm at the beach with my youngest and my mom and dad, as well as most of my extended family on my mama's side, so i have lots to blog. but i need to get a couple things on here from before so i won't forget them. just everyday stuff but that seems to be what gets forgotten most easily.

"mom! i see nature in action!" what he saw was a spider wrapping up a fly in a little web inside our lovely 1950 or 60whatever came-with-the-house original windows. he was amazed. and then i think a little creeped out when the spider disappeared with his catch. after that i cleaned out the window.
there was another sleepover with the brothers, plus an alex. 4 boys. this is my favorite picture from that. i went in to wake them up to get ready to go help at vbs and i couldn't find luke. counting boys, 1 - 2 - 3...i was confused. then his head popped up from under max's bed where he'd been sleeping. funny boys.

we didn't get to do our sparklers on the 4th of july so we did them the other night when we were all at home. i love sparklers. didn't get to sparkle for myself this time, i was busy being sparkler lighter. and watching their faces as they watched their sparklers. that made me happy.

the youth group went bowling (ended up not, but they had fun anyway) one day last week. when i dropped off blake and luke and 3 stowaway boys we had, our friend dave rolled in to bring his daughter. his holden and my max are buddies, and max got an invitation to go with them for the afternoon. when dave dropped him off later, he said something to the effect that i shouldn't listen to what max said he did while he was with them, and that they did nothing dangerous. or illegal. dave's a big bbq guy - rubs/marinades/all that stuff. on the way home max told me that dave had him try some pork he'd cooked and there were 3 different sauces. he liked the "MSS" sauce the best. "i like the MSS the best but i can't tell you what it is because it's a secret!" they shot air guns, bow and arrows, played pool and max wiped out on a scooter. so he had a good day.
