tuesday. (what else can i call it?)

i forgot to post max with the medal he got at church sunday for having perfect attendance and inviting friends to backyard Bible club. so here it is. and i already mentioned a while back that luke is now SPL of his boy scout troop. he finally got his patch monday evening. more patch sewing!

day 2 of day camp activities..another early morning for my boys. actually i don't guess it's so early, it's just that they have to get up and get ready to go somewhere instead of having unscheduled time. i reminded max it was his idea to say "yes" to the "do you want to go to daycamp this summer?" question. and blake volunteered, so there you go. luke had to get up today as well since i thought i might be helping transport kids to camp and i wanted him to come too. ends up the church van held them all so we weren't needed. i didn't mind, but luke was not real thrilled to be up and dressed and out in the world for no apparent reason. anyway, blake and max rode away with the rest of them for another hot and muggy day of fun. i'm anxious to hear their reports!

this is also day 2 of luke/mom time. this is something we have never ever really had. luke was born into our family after blake was already there. max was born just a few days before blake started kindergarten. i guess we did have some time a couple hours a couple mornings a week when blake went to preschool. but luke was only 1-ish or maybe 2 at that time, still taking morning naps, which was blake's whole time away. so we've been wondering how this week would be and what we'd get into. we're an awful lot alike, so hopefully we won't do each other in. and, left alone, he'll sleep all morning, so really it's just like when he was a baby! this morning we ran some really exciting errands after the daycamp dropoff. i asked him what he wanted to do today and he said he really wanted to try the last new flavor of mountain dew because then he would've had all 3. big goal for the day, right? and he achieved it right away because kroger was on the way home. when else but summer do you get mountain dew and m&m's for breakfast?

we stopped at kathy's on the way home to drop off some things and got out to visit for a bit. remnants of sunday evening's slug-salting were still there, along with a fresh one sliding around. all of a sudden aly was holding it up for us to see up close and personal. so icky. but she thought it was great.
