grades and good words

yesterday was a good day. all 3 creasy boys came home with report cards that said "4.0". well, 2 came home with them. luke left his in his locker. (anyone remember the award he got from his 8th grade science teacher? the "it's in my locker" award?) some things never change. max only had one "check-minus" in the behavior area where it said "talks at appropriate times". imagine that. blake had an "outstanding" comment. imagine that. we spent the evening at the high school for open house. time to go to their classes and meet teachers (again) and hear what they're doing in class and maybe get a little snippet of what they think of your kid. not to brag (ok, maybe just a little) but all i heard was really good words about my boys. blake would just smile. probably hoping inside that i wouldn't gush over him or even cry with pride. every time a teacher would tell me something great about luke, he'd get embarassed and get that big luke smile on his face. i think he wasn't sure what to do with the compliments when they were being given by someone else to his mom. one teacher said she wished she had 100 of him in her classes. when we left there i hugged him and told him he's my very own son and even I don't want 100 of him. =)

before the open house began, we had an opportunity to watch performances by the jazz band, show choir, and then blake's very first ever performance with collegium musicum. all of the groups were good, but of course collegium was the best! sure, i'm a tad biased. but whatever. it's my blog! see and hear for yourself.
