it's looking like Christmas in here

we're not doing our Christmas open house this year, so we've been a bit lazy about getting our tree up and other decorations out. finally had some time when we were all home at once so we worked on it some. it was a snowy day, which i thought was just perfect for decorating for Christmas. the boys dragged things down out of the attic so we could get started. one of them mentioned in kind of a "by the way..." kind of way, "it's snowing up here." greg told them it was ok, that it always comes in some because of some vent or something. i looked up there to see what they were talking about and asked him if the whole roof was supposed to be open. apparently not. ok so we'd be needing to fix that so there'd be no accumulation in the attic. got most things down that we're putting out this year...greg got the tree up and it only lit up in certain areas. not so Christmasie looking, you know? ok so we'd be needing a new tree. the shopping list kept growing so we went out to get it all so we could continue and maybe get done (didn't get done that day...oh well). we've had white lights on the Christmas tree since we got married. i love them but colored lights are my favorite. turns out their max's favorite too - when we were tree shopping he looked up at me and asked if we could maybe get one with colored lights. i didn't know if greg'd go for it but he did and that's what we brought home. we have a whitelight tree in the living room and now a colored light tree in the family room. everybody's happy. the trees stood nakie for a few days until we could all be home together to get them decorated. now we're all set.

I just love a good old Christmas decorating slide show. You all look so happy doing it. And the Wal-Mart Tree Farm...priceless.

The fun of trying out the lights! I know you're feelings but thank goodness I didn't have to get a new tree, just five extra sets of lights!
