This was kind of a big day for us. Lots of packing to do to get 2 off to scout camp, long-awaited books to pick up, and a 25 year class reunion to attend. So it was kind of non-stop. First on the list today was getting to Borders to pick up 2 reserved copies of the new Harry Potter book.

Blake and Max have been waiting not so patiently for this day. They wanted to go to the big-dealio release party last night but there was no way we were getting into that mess. So they waited til the mall opened today and managed just fine. I'm sure you can tell they were thrilled to have to stand in the middle of the mall parking lot for me to take this picture. I told them I have a blog to keep up, they'll just have to deal.

And there's a picture of Luke with NO book. He's smart. He borrows theirs.

Greg's 25th year class reunion was this weekend - HEHS Class of 1982...we're getting so old.
Anyway. This afternoon was a family picnic at Ritter Park, complete with hot dogs and root beer from Stewart's. It was pretty fun, Greg actually recognized some people,

and the boys managed to have a good time even if there
was a band there playing a bunch of 80's music. I did see Max doing a little toe-tapping.

There was a mechanical bull (there was a western theme for the weekend) and surprisingly all of our boys rode it. I had a little mercy on Blake and just took a picture of Max. I do have video proof that Blake and Luke rode it though.
This was when we knew it was

time to leave:

The "no-kids" dinner was this evening. It was nice. Kind of calm. We sat with some people that we know, a couple of them old friends we hadn't seen for many years. We had our picture taken (along with everyone else) for the memory book but didn't order one. Our friend Kathy thought that didn't sound right so she took our picture when we went to pick up our boys. It turned out really well, so now we're extra glad we didn't spring for an "official" one. Can't beat free.
And p.s....Blake finished the book today.
