a bagel story

sarah beth is in the hospital having some tests done and getting some medical care she's been needing. yesterday when greg and i were there to visit with her, her nurse asked all of us in there if we'd had one of the pink ribbon bagels at panera....excuse me? i couldn't believe there was a pink ribbon anything that i wasn't aware of. this makes me wonder what else is out there for me in the pink ribbon world. anyway. we decided that today we'd go to panera and have one. so we did. we marched right up there and told the bagel man what we wanted. he asked if we wanted them toasted, which we did, but of course i had to take a picture first. i said to him "i have to take a picture first!!" and he looked at me a little weird. i explained that i realize i'm strange but i can't help it. he gave up on the tongs he was using to hold it because he couldn't make me happy with any way he was holding the bagel with them. he decided to just use his hands and eat that bagel himself later on. (his name is brian and he's very patient.) it turns out that they looked just fine post-toaster and i put him through all that for nothing. we told him that our niece has been fighting breast cancer. he told us his mother-in-law has breast cancer. he ended up giving us our bagels, only charging us for our drinks, and buying 2 of the "pray for sarah beth" bracelets. greg said brian the bagel man spent more money this morning than we did. i asked him if he minded being in my blog - he said he didn't and asked me to be sure to mention panera and that they're doing this fundraiser all month. he said they make a "dough"nation. get it? HA! so anyway, go to panera, and while you're using their free wifi, have a pink ribbon bagel. they're very tasty, by the way.

hahaha you are so funny! people may harass us about our cameras and our quirks but hey...look at that- you and Brian touched each others' lives today..opening up so many more outlets-learning about each others' lives, causing more prayers for sarah and heck more business for panera! i have only been to panera once for a lunch. I'm in need of a morning trip- and y'know what? I could smuggle my strawberry cream cheese spread in to put on my bagel and we could take some good pics of our pink ribbon bagels! okay maybe they have the pink cream cheese there already and i wouldn't have to smuggle. anyway, you get back- its a date. (yes im rattling)

Cameras...who doesn't carry one with them everywhere they go? Mark says that I could possibly have one implanted somewhere so I could use it 24/7. That's okay...he will sit fo the longest time and look at the pictures. Loved the bagel man! Isn't it a small world. And God is in control of it all. I love that. Sometimes it is hard to understand but that is just the pain and simple fact...God is in control!
