thisses and thats

no theme here, just trying to stay caught up!

blake and luke are both in youth choir at church. their musical, "an extreme Christmas" was sunday. they all did such a great job! most of the pictures i am not allowed to include in a blog entry. i'd like for my sons to still speak to me. but this one if from the first song "12 days of Christmas" - blake was the pipers piping and luke was the lords-a-leaping. this picture is post-leap-landing.

under our Christmas tree is evidence that a little brother/son/grandson has been doing some secret santa shopping at school.

a few years ago someone from church gave us this nativity, which we decided to put under our skinny tree in the living room. i like nativities underneath Christmas trees because it is a way to keep our focus on what the whole celebration is about in the first place. this year someone gave us a figurine of the last supper. i had no idea where to put it. while i was turning around in circles in the living room wondering "where do i set this?" it occurred to me that the perfect place would be with the nativity. the purpose of the baby Jesus' coming. the body and the blood. His life for mine. and yours. full circle.

this boy's tonsils are on their way to being history. someday very soon...for now, there he is on the couch - fever, tonsils touching each other (bleeding tonsils i might add), with popsicle (necessary equipment) and Christmas spirit intact. mostly.
