sunday. (isn't that creative?)

yesterday was sunday and sundays are always whirlwindie for this family. only greg and blake had to be there at 8, so luke and max and i rolled in just in time for the 9am service. megan was there when we got there and of course we were happy about that...after sunday school, luke, max, megan and i made a little starbucks run before we went back home. it really was a necessary trip (i know i've said that before) because we were about out of coffee. that would be kind of sad if we ran out. seriously. anyway, i took my little bags-o-beans to have them ground up. i noticed then what i'd noticed when kim and kathy and i were there the other day, and that is that there were about 4 pounds of Christmas blend just sitting over on the rail by the coffee makers, not doing anything. just sitting there. so i asked what they were doing over there and she said she didn't know. then she said "do you want some of it?" and i said "how much?" and then SHE said "i don't know. you can just have it."......WHAT?! well, okay. i'll take it. she even ground it up for me. now that i'm writing/reading it, it sort of sounds like some kind of drug deal. only better because it was free and it's only coffee! and now i have my little bags i took with me still in bean form because i didn't need them after all. after this, i didn't have to order my drink because i'm such an addict she knew it already, and i continued my quest to know all of their names and was successful in remembering josh, but boy it took me a minute and he thought he had me. but i won, and he gave me a high-five. it was just kind of a happy little starbucks morning. happy, yet pathetic...i know. but i'm ok with it. ok, so then it was back to reality and home to fix lunch. mom and dad and megan and drew were going to be eating with us. nothing fancy, just bbq's and potato salad and sweet tea and brownies. we had a great time together though. it's been so good to have drew around these past few months, and now megan is here for a few weeks also, so we're getting some good time in with them. drew had the new songs he's been recording on his ipod, so we got to listen to those. and of course they were great...he's really really talented...the boys introduced megan to the game mike had made us (which suddenly i can't remember how to spell) and she ended up asking for a thimble so she could keep playing. it does hurt a little. after everyone left, i knew i should go for a walk because it was beautiful outside. but don't you know the couch was calling my name? so cassie, you'll be proud to know that the blanket came out of the basket and we spent some time together with the couch. i agree with you. sunday afternoon naps are a must.

As a former Starbucks Barista...kudos to you for knowing names. I always loved it when a customer knew my name. I tried to know as many customers as possible. You're awesome...keep it up.
