i've mentioned before that every time we all have to be at church early for praise team practice that max has to go along since he obviously can't stay home alone. i call him moral support. the other night as he was crawling into bed

he said "i'm tired of being the cheerleader." i said "moral support?" and he said "yeah..."...he's been needing a way to participate. he actually could play guitar with the praise team, not sure why he hasn't yet. anyway, we had another of our ignition services at church this past saturday night. that's our contemporary service. he begged and begged to run the lights. and that's what he got to do. he got to be totally in charge of it. what colors were on, how blinky things got, all that kind of stuff. when we practiced friday afternoon, it was the best thing ever to watch him. he was just beside himself and was smiling from ear to ear! he reminded me of psalm 84:10 "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."....it didn't matter to him what job he had, he just wanted to do something. anything. he might need to rub off on some people. including his mama!
