just some summer stuff

i know, i know. it's only been a day since my last entry. hard for me to believe myself. nothing like keeping on top of things. luke spent the day at kings island yesterday with a group from his school. he had a lot of fun. he said that the day didn't even seem to go by too fast which was nice, since i think time's supposed to fly when you're having fun. no pictures for proof, but he had a great time and a safe day and he drank plenty of water and only one vault. his parents are grateful for that. meanwhile, at home, his brothers had big plans to camp out in the back yard. even though it was extremely hot and the humidity, even after dark, was ridiculous. they got the tent all set up, and when bedtime came they got all situated. for about an hour. then they got too hot and came in. they say they're going to try again. we'll see how long it lasts. today we bunched up a few barboursville area activities, got a couple things done and racked up some drive time for blake. we picked up some more "pray for sarah beth" t-shirts (i have some extras if anyone reading this would like to buy one), then went to the library to pick up some books max and i had on hold. little did we know that this morning was the kick-off of the library's summer reading program and the place was wall to wall little people along with their moms who looked like they might pull their hair out at any moment. this made me chuckle a little. i still have occasion for hair-pulling, but not because i'm chasing excited little 2 foot tall people around a library. all of the library people were dressed up like bugs or butterflies. it was quite an experience. one lady tried to talk max into signing up but he was having none of it. there was even happy music playing pretty loudly, which caused blake to comment that he "thought this was a library". one butterly lady was carrying around a bucket of gummie worms for whoever wanted to have one. luke was all over that. next stop was starbucks. why not? we even decided to have a seat and stay for awhile to enjoy our treats. i bought a bag of coffee (we're about out, so i had to) which caused us to stay even longer because they were cleaning out the grinder and couldn't take care of it right away. (it really bothered me to have to stay a little longer!) i bought a new kind for us, called kopelani blend. it's "juicy and refined". i want to know what in the world that means. it smells good that's all i know. haven't had any yet, but it will be good i'm sure of it. luke was compelled to make a trip to the pet store for another fish. we were right there close to it so there we went. he got a molly. i don't know what the difference is between it and anything else he has but he does. it made him happy and he felt like part of our morning was for him since the only thing he got out of the library trip was the free gummie worm.

Well, what a day you had. Funny, Monday, our library was the same way. I was hoping we had missed the summer reading sign-up day. So we are signed up and already read two books and are ready to go back tomorrow and get our prize...maybe on the way to take Sarah to work..we do that double up thing too.

im sooooo glad the library "crowd" was gone by the time we got there...but even still i did manage to spill my drink on the library carpet.

tell the boys they'll have to hit nate up on the weekend for the next tentfest. and not so close to his recent campouting.he would enjoy it.
