just some more beachie stuff

not much has been going on outside of our usual nanny/poppy beach visit routine. up early, beach, home, lunch, pool or nap, supper, pool or nap. maybe a trip to the market for fresh produce or to the grocery store to stock up. i could get used to this on a full-time basis. seriously.

our weather has been so good. a couple mornings ago it was just beautiful over by the ocean. the sun on the water was gorgeous - it just shimmered.

max has discovered the tiny little freezer in the mini-fridge in our room. it's been there for the entire 10 years we've been coming here. to be fair, he was a few months away from being born when mom and dad bought this place and he'd have had no reason to even be in the fridge for the first few years. anyway, he's kind of enthralled with the two little ice cube trays in there. he makes sure to refill them when all the ice is gone. (he's the only one using that ice.) he gave me the ice cube update the other morning as we were heading to the beach - "there's some from last night and there's some that should be ready by the time we get home"...he's also keeping the pop stocked. quite a helper. and today he learned how to shuck corn.

every now and then there are people who do their fancy relaxation moves on the beach while the rest of us are running through the waves or flopped out on a towel with a book. a few years ago there was some guy in a speedo doing some tai chi looking stuff in the waves. yesterday these two were doing something similar. hope i dont offend anyone here...but this always cracks me up. they've got way more guts than me.

my friend gloria found this pennant from her trips to sunset beach when she was a teenager. she thought my dad should have it. hey gloria...you reading this?? dad found a place of honor for your pennant. it's right there one his closet door...like it?

greg, blake and luke surprised us this afternoon, showing up a few hours earlier than we'd expected them today. it's good to be back together again.

every day the weather people say we'll be having thunderstorms in the afternoon. we haven't had one yet. except for now! we're having a major storm this evening. we're even in the red on the radar! some of my favorite stuff. here are some pictures..
