we've been keeping track of hurricane/tropical storm hanna especially since the weather channel people kept saying it was headed for the nc/sc border.

the beach that sits on the nc/sc border just happens to be the same place we dig our toes in every summer. and where my grandmother, aunt and uncle live. jim cantore (maniac) is usually the meteorologist who plants himself right in harm's way, but he wasn't there this time. really, nobody was. one of the other guys was on ocean isle, the next beach up (you can walk over there from sunset when the tide is out). but the sunset beach folks tied down the swing bridge yesterday and there was no way even the weather channel crazies could get over on the island.

hanna made landfall about 3:20 a.m. near the nc/sc state line. just happen to have a picture of that spot...they replaced the old sign this year with a nice new one so greg took a pic of it when he, blake, luke, max and sambobbobby rode their bikes down there one evening. last we heard from the tv folks, the beach was still underwater. i'm anxious to know/see how it all ends up.

I love the border sigh. Glad everyone made it safe. Kinda weird seeing and hearing places on the weather channel that you know and love.
