apple butter weekend

our friends the booths open their home to our church family every october for a weekend of the fun (and work!) of making apple butter. everyone always has such a great time. they have tons of room for the kids to run themselves ragged. there are hayrides and football games and basketball and whatever else they make up to do. and lots of talking and lots of eating. and pressing cider and making ice cream. fun fun fun! and there's the apple butter duties, keeping the fire going and stirring the apple butter and when it's time, putting it up in jars. we have such a precious church family. and it's so good to spend time with them.
