just days in the life

so today was the big MU/WVU game. yesterday was spirit day at my boys' schools. blake and max both decided to do the face paint thing plus max opted for a little arm painting too. this would usually be luke too. he's the child of ours who we figure we'll see someday on espn, head shaved, no shirt, body painted the colors of the team of his choice. but for some reason, this time he decided to wear a collared shirt. his brothers asked him if he was meeting someone special or something. (he firmly denied that.) last night we spent some time around the campfire with our good good friends the kaplans and the warnocks and the smiths. yummy food and lots of smores and just plain relaxation. it was great. today we didn't have much on our agenda, at least not much outside of our home. greg, blake and luke went hiking with some boys from their scout troop. they're participating in the kanawha trace hike in october, so they're hiking every week to prepare. max and i stayed home, went to the store, then came home in time to get some goodies ready to eat while we all watched the marshall game. well, the herd did great at first and they were ahead at halftime. but the 2nd half was different and we lost...we're sad. but at least they didn't get stomped from the get-go. since it was an afternoon game we have the rest of the evening to hang around and do stuff together and pretend it didn't happen!
