max has been in cub scouts for a few years now. he had his first meeting of this year last week and they got to use their pocket knives. this was his first experience with a pocket knife, so i was interested to see how things went for him. he came home with all of his fingers, no injuries, and a nice bar of soap carved in a "C".

today was a good day. i had today off which was a beautiful thing, except i still woke up early, even before my usual early, actually. oh well. greg's uncle david is visiting from colorado. he got here last night and we've really enjoyed having him with us. this morning we went to starbucks for a little coffee/mocha/americano/caramel apple spice/whatever before we went different directions for the day. while we were standing in line waiting to order, we saw jason sitting in his truck in the drive-thru line. he decided to come in and join us. we loved that! it was great to get that unexpected time with him.

this evening we spent with family and friends celebrating greg's dad's birthday. this year, keith turns 70! yep, he's really getting old. (HA!) he even had a crown to wear, and a little ribbon stating that he is "aged to perfection". it was good to celebrate with him and just good to be together. joyce and henry are here from georgia, david's in from colorado, and all of our usual family people on the creasy side were all there too. some folks from their church came also.

one of those was one of my good friends from high school, rodney. oh my gosh, i laughed so much tonight! greg and i had the best time talking to him, catching up a little and talking about memories from school. toward the end of the evening, he entertained my boys with a little helium-voice action. even taught them how they could do it themselves. now i have someone else to blame for any glitches in their thought processes. i couldn't possibly write all the conversations that went on or tell all the funny little things that happened. i'll just put in some more pictures instead.

hey max, can i have an "S" soap? Gosh Greg and his Dad are mirror images. Glad you had a fun day off from the Marriot. Your boys look older.....again.
What a fun time it looks like you had. Great to see some old faces that I recognize. Everyone looks great! Give the old man a big hug from me, please.
