fundraiser for sarah beth

ever since sarah beth was diagnosed with breast cancer, our church family has wanted to do anything they could to help her. one thing that several of them have been talking about for quite a while is a spaghetti dinner. (our people know how to do spaghetti dinners!) finally, they just decided "we're doing it!!" and away they went with it! greg and i really had very little to do with the planning and organization of the entire event. actually, saying "very little" makes it sound like we did something. we did almost NOTHING. well, nothing but sit back and watch our precious church family be the hands and feet of Jesus to sarah beth, therefore His hands and feet to us as well. this is the way the body of Christ is supposed to behave. loving people. there was spaghetti, there were desserts galore, there were beautiful baskets made for a silent auction with donations from individuals and merchants from our area. the tables were beautiful. the youth and the children served, working so hard all evening. the kitchen was hopping the entire time. sarah beth walked around from start to finish, hugging and smiling and being beautiful. i just can't say enough about the evening. we are so grateful to (and for) our church family. and God did a wonder in the hearts of those who came to support sarah beth. last count we know of is that $9500 was raised. there's more coming in. God does such amazing things. and when His people show up and serve with selfless hearts, He can really show off!

I wish there was a word more awesome than awesome. If there is such a word ..that describes Pea Ridge and the wonderful angels! What a amazing night...you could feel the love and caring before you even entered the parking lot. The fruits of the Spirit are evident there.
