just humor me

i have a friend named louie. yesterday morning at church he needed a few minutes of my time. he had a starbucks bag in his hand with tissue paper in the top and so i wasn't able to sneak a peek. he said he just wanted to make sure i was taken care of til next Christmas and handed me the bag. guess what was in it??? 12 RED CUPS!!! some tall, some grande, all of them red. louie said that gives me one a month for those days when i just really need the red cup. a couple months 2 a month since i only need to make it til november. it's making me giggle just writing about it...he isn't even fully aware of how big a goof i am - hasn't read a red cup blog since my first ode to the red cup a few weeks back. he's just witnessed it firsthand with his very own eyes, i guess. he didn't get me any green sleeves though. he's seen my green sleeve garland so he said he figured i had enough of those. greg told me later that they would only give louie 6 cups the first trip he made so he went back again another time for the rest. sure i'm glad to have my own red cup supply. but what really fills my heart up is that a friend went out of his way to do something like that just for me. proof that even simple kindnesses can make a person's whole day. oh, and just in case anyone's worried about it, i took down the little pyramid-o-red cups after i took the picture. it's not on permanent shrine display.
