testing testing one two three

i was off today, at least from "real" work. but i went in anyway for awhile to take a test i needed to get out of the way for this year. we have a big list of tests we have to take annually and this one was my last one. at least til they tack on some more! kathy had several to do so we did what we did last year which was invade nathan's office at the hospital and take over his entire area. he was confined to a small space close to his computer. he even had to climb up and walk across the room on top of the desks to get out of there. i guess we were kind of spread out. and loud. he said he doesn't usually have so much entertainment in his office. laptops all set, coffee in hand (even though kathy's was from speedway...i went to mojo's at the hospital), calculators, notes, etc...and lots of noise. it's just the best way to deal with test-taking, you know? friends and laughing. i had seen terry ellis on the way to nathan's office and invited him up for some RN med exam fun. he helped us out last year when we were hung up on a dosage question. he ended up coming in finally. seriously, how could he not? surely he remembered how fun it was last time. he did end up helping us again (different subject this year) but mainly he just hung out with us for a bit, in between official hospital business-type phone calls. and it was great, because ellis people are AWESOME. (right jan???) and doesn't that picture up there make him look like he was saying something profound or at least helpful? (he wasn't. at least not at that moment!) we ended up finishing the med test and doing the ekg one too, even though i don't really have to do that one. i'm wondering if i'm not a real enough nurse to have to? actually, i lucked out because of my particular position there. they decided we mommy hours people shouldn't have to do it. kathy had to though. she and terry brainstormed it and got them all right.

anybody know what this is? yeah, i didn't either. and it's not idioventricular rhythm, if that's what you're thinking. it's sinus rhythm with a bundle branch block. (feel better now?)

and here we are with all our test-taking tools...evidence of our hard workiness.
after all this, i got to spend some time with my mom and dad. i don't seem to see them, or any of my nearby family for that matter, as often as i want to, or as often as i should. i do love them though! greg took the day off and did some things around the house and some errands he needed to do. and we donated some money at kroger. just regular life kind of stuff, but good. there are plans for the rest of this evening, none of which involve a nap under a warm blanket on this rainy day...can't have everything.

ps Some of us have to settle for speedway budget coffee.oh and in truth terry is doing gregs sermon ending there ..."WHAT IF?" instead of "SO what?" oh well...he gets credit for listening...

I think you all are crazy. Looks and sounds like a great time. How come back in the day (long time ago) we never got to take "Community" tests? So next time we are in town we have to meet this crazy crew you run with.

I am with Cassie as soon as I saw that picture I knew he was not saying anything to important. But hey he is a great actor. Sounds like a fun test day! maybe I will suggest this test layout to my professors!
