i love every season. i can never pick a favorite because there is so much about every one of them that i enjoy. and i LOVE snow. (which we happen to be having a little of today!) but i have to say that it's been a long winter for me.
and i am so grateful for the way that the coming spring is making me feel this year. more daylight. some warm days (obviously not today). just an overwhelming feeling of "new". and new is popping up in my yard, too. and that makes me happy. my lilac is going to have a million blooms.
the hostas are pushing through the ground. and my little tiny rose bush that was transplanted from my grandmother's house when she moved has not only survived the cold but now has thorns! (picture's blurry but you can tell...) it had some leaves before winter came and i wasn't sure how it would do. but i think i'm going to have a beautiful reminder of my grandmother just outside my window. actually i already do!
