madness. march and otherwise.

it's been a smith kind of week at our house. i like those kind, really. we were going to do a repeat of the firepit evening only at our house, but schedules crammed us into not much time (basketball started at 9) so we just decided to make it an inside evening. the male types watched the final game of the ncaa tournament and kathy and i finished up the yearbook ordeal. just had to put post-its on them with the kids' names and sort them by class with rubberbands. only problem there was we ran out of posties and had not one rubberband between us. nathan went to their house during a commercial to find some in a spot where kathy was just sure they would be. he couldn't find them. so she and i hopped in the car for a quick trip to kmart (i hate kmart but it's close) for what we needed. 10:15 pm...they're closed. so is the dollar store. ok, so she is just positive nathan didn't do a thorough enough search. we go to her house. we do find about a million post-it notes but no rubberbands. do you see any in this closet? we found to-go coffee cups and flashlights and 4 open boxes of wax paper and aloe and duct tape and assorted craft supplies and the porter's salve (you can smell that before you see it) and all kinds of things she was happy to see because she'd been looking for them for awhile. but no rubberbands. to walmart we go, which was just as well, because in the meantime she decided she needed shaving cream too. we eventually got back to my house, but not before nathan texted to see if we'd be home sometime, even maybe sometime that same evening.
