some more beach memories

we spent lots of nights (5) sitting at the "it should be any time now" sea turtle nest. i was just sure those little guys would march down through there while i was watching. but they didn't! oh well. i did really enjoy that time of sitting on the beach in the evening with various combinations of my family and friends. lots of turtlie facts being thrown around - all very interesting. and those green shirt people ("turtle patrol") take their jobs very seriously. i want to be one. i told the one i'd seen the most that when i retire i want to be a green-shirt. she said "you just have to like early morning walks and late night beach sitting." uh..yeah...i can do that. she said "when are you coming?!"..seriously, don't tempt me.


a perk of late evening beach bumming:












i kept getting texts from blake one day after he and his brothers had already gone back to the house. "what do you take in your coffee?" "when are you coming home?"..obviously i needed to abandon the seashore and go back to the house because my firstborn was doing things to take care of me. and it turned out that it wasn't just him. max and makenzie met me at the door with plates of yum that bob and kim had brought from sunset gourmet. and they already had out the pimiento cheese and club crackers. what a welcome home!

ok, really now..how fun could this game be?

did some non-turtle focused evening beach sitting until a storm chased us away. a storm which passed on by, i might add.
