election day freebie, red cups and fall leaves

i noticed ads on facebook that said on november 4th, starbucks was giving a free cup of brewed coffee to anyone who came in and said they had voted. well count me in! blake and luke, who had slept through the voting, were all about the starbucks trip. some of my favorites were working that day. i announced that i had voted. and then i said "could my free cup of brewed coffee magically transform into a misto?" they said they thought they could manage that. then i said "could it be a sugarfree hazelnut nonfat misto?" and of course it could. guess what? i had already had texts that morning from my aunt linda and my cousin bob telling me that it was red cup day. and there was my free "i voted" coffee in a red cup! i figure there's no better way to reintroduce myself to the world of coffee than for it to be free AND in a red cup. it isn't totally red cup season though. no green sleeve on my cup. and the store is still all brown. seems they have a new blend this year that they're focusing on in november - thanksgiving blend. has a turkey on the bag. supposed to be perfect with all the spices in traditional turkey-type thanksgiving foods. it's good but they need to be done with it and bring in the Christmas blend and all the red decorations. I AM READY! we left there and paid a little visit to my mom and dad. a free day and plenty of time for it. my dad was busy in the back yard blowing leaves around. plenty of trees and plenty of leaves. and i was able to get a picture or two of dad without him even knowing i was there.
